    Is it a full-size pickleball court?

    No, and we'd rather tell you now than in a review. It's the same layout as a real court (service boxes, kitchen, lines) at about 1/5 the size: 98" × 47".

    That's the fun part. A tight court doesn't forgive a sloppy dink, so every ball has to land soft and in. It's made for what you can play indoors: dinks, resets and fast hands at the net. Save the lobs for spring.

    How much room and ceiling do I need?

    The mat is about 8 × 4 ft, the size of a big area rug. Leave room to stand at each end and plan on roughly 12 × 6 ft of floor: living room, basement, garage or patio.

    A standard 8 ft ceiling is plenty. It's a soft game at the net, not lobs.

    How loud is it? Will it bother anyone?

    We won't call it silent. Nothing with a paddle is, and with a regular ball you'll still hear the pop.

    The mat softens the bounce. Playing after dinner? Switch to foam pickleballs and the pop gets a lot softer: the easy way to stay a good neighbor and still get your dinks in.

    Will the mat stay flat and the net stay up?

    The net stands on its own metal frame over the kitchen zone. No drilling, no anchoring, nothing screwed into your floor.

    The mat ships packed, so unroll it and let it rest flat before your first game. If you notice a new-product smell, leave it out in a ventilated room for a day or two.

    And if anything arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours and we'll replace it or refund you, return shipping on us.

    We nearly always finish work after dark, and the rain doesn't help. I bought this thinking we'd use it occasionally in the lounge. It's become the thing we suggest when neither of us fancies another evening on the sofa. We clear a little space, get the court out and play until one of us insists on a deciding point. It's comfortable to fit into our evening, and I really like having something we can enjoy together without making a whole plan.

    Honestly, I bought it because I was fed up with us both scrolling on the sofa. We already had paddles but hardly used them during the week. Now we sometimes put the kettle on, move the table and have a little game in the lounge. There's usually more laughing than scorekeeping. What I like most is how ordinary it feels: we don't need to book anything or organise a group. We just get it out when we fancy playing, then roll the mat away afterward.
